Three drug peddlers have been detained by the police in East Agartala of Tripura on Tuesday. The first peddler arrested has been identified as one Basudev Debbarma.
A raid was conducted at Debbarma’s shop at the Atabo locality and several containers of heroin were seized.
Apart from him, two more persons were arrested in Agartala’s Abhaynagar area in connection with drug peddling. In these series of raids, a total of 70 containers of drugs were seized by the police.
Apart from these, a series of raids were also conducted against several gambling dens in the city which led to the arrest of about 22 persons.
Several areas of Agartala like Budhomandir, Radhanagar, Motaghat and Chandrapur were targeted for gambling dens.
