Taking note of the sudden increase in COVID-19 cases in Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has asked the people of the state to lend a hand in combating the anticipated third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic via social media.
Speaking on Covid-19 restrictions, the chief minister has urged all to follow Covid protocols such as wearing masks, avoiding social gatherings and adhering to restrictions imposed by the state government. He added that the positivity rate of the state currently stands at 7.09 %.

On the health infrastructure, Deb reiterated that the healthcare infrastructure has improved significantly and the state is fully equipped to fight the third Covid wave. He added that the state has 22 oxygen plants, 1,719 oxygen concentrators, and 2,263 oxygen cylinders, respectively.
The Chief Minister further added that currently there are 20,000 hospital beds and asked asymptomatic or those with mild symptoms to opt for home isolation.
