Tripura CM, DGP Hushing Up State Affairs? Cong MLA Sudip Roy Barman Accuses CM and DGP of Manipulating Crime Numbers

Is the Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Director General of Police (DGP) Amitabha Ranjan hushing up the actual state of affairs stating that the law and order situation in Tripura has significantly improved?
Well in a big allegation, Tripura Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has accused Chief Minister Manik Saha and DGP Amitabha Ranjan of hushing up state affairs and manipulating crime statistics in Tripura.
Roy Barman opposed the Chief Minister and Director General of Police’s claims that law and order in Tripura has significantly improved compared to previous governments and claimed that the state has, in fact, become a hub for rapists, criminals, and drug mafias, pointing to a troubling surge in crime.
Barman highlighted growing public concern over safety, emphasizing that residents, particularly women, do not feel secure. He questioned the government’s assertions about the state’s law and order situation, demanding answers on why such crime levels persist.
“Both the chief minister and DGP want to hush up the actual state of affairs and want to suppress the actual figure. Each and every day rape, gang-rape, arsening, looting incidents take place. I would like to know what is the rate of the IPC conviction cases. Clarify why there has been a spike in such sort of incidents in the state of Tripura. What the chief minister and DGP are saying does not matter because the fact of the matter is that people are insecure. Women are insecure. Chief minister assured us educational hub, medical hub, rather we are witnessing, on the contrary, the hub of the criminals, anti-socials, rapists, drug mafias,” said Roy Barman.
Earlier in the day, after a meeting on the state’s security situation, CM Manik Saha and DGP Amitabh Ranjan said that the state has seen significant improvements in law and order under CM Saha’s leadership.
