The Tripura BJP has come out all guns blazing against the Congress and the CPI-M after the parties said that their MPs delegation was attacked by BJP miscreants yesterday.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Tripura BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee said that there is a larger conspiracy behind this.
While demanding for a proper probe into the incident of violence, Nabendu Bhattacharjee said that this was an attempt by the Congress and the CPI-M to malign the image of Tripura.
He said,”we want that whatever allegations have been levelled there must be proper inquiry. The police must swing into action because there is a big conspiracy behind this. It is an attempt to malign the image of Tripura.”
Bhattacharjee also highlighted that levelling such allegations is nothing but a sort of survival tactic for the Congress and the CPI-M.
The Tripura BJP leader said,”They (Cong & CPI-M) will resort to these kind of activities only, they have to level allegations or else how can they survive. How to survive in politics? They have to survive in politics so they are doing this.”
A day after the fact finding team of the Congress and the CPI-M MPs were attacked, a delegation of both the parties today met Governor Satya Deo Narayan Arya and informed about the latter about the incident as well as the prevailing law and order situation.
Briefing newspersons, Tripura Congress in charge alleged,”In a region where MPs delgation is attacked, than what will happen to the common people? We did not see ever in this country that an MP delegation has been attacked. Irrespective of any party affiliation we came here to take stock of the affected people.”
Meanwhile, another member of the MPs delegation further alleged that no government authorities took stock of their situation after the incident took place. He said, “A democratic government should have done that. And yesterday’s incident everybody knows, police escort was there. They will report naturally. Why are the government authorities not contacting the Parliament members what happened to You?
Irresponsibility, insulting the Parliament, we are the Members of the Parliament from different parties, they are insulting the Parliament members, insulting the democracy.”
It may be mentioned that a fact-finding team of the CPI-M and Congress that had come to the state to take stock of the post-poll violence was allegedly attacked by miscreants at Nehalchandranagar in Sepahijala district.
