A tractor driver, Inzamamul Haque, a resident of Barpeta, became the proud owner of a Range Rover car, worth a stunning Rs 75 lakh, after winning the first prize in a lottery organized in the Howli Raas Mahotsav. The lottery ticket which won him the prize cost a mere Rs 100.

Speaking to the media, Inzamul said, “I waited for at least 5 hours to buy two tickets in Howly Raas Mahotsav. Yesterday night, one of the friends informed me that I won and sent a photo of the results. After hearing the news, I could not sleep the entire night.”

Other luxurious cars to be won as prizes in the lottery included a Toyota Fortuner, a Scorpio, a Skoda Kushaq  and many others.

The Organizing Committee of the Howly Raas festival, which takes place during the time of Raas Mahotsav, organizes a lottery competition every year and this year marked the 95th anniversary of the annual festival. Prizes included as many as 21 luxury cars this year.
