Venting anger on a scholarship helpline centre run by its chairman Hillang Nima for not enlisting their names for scholarships, around 300 students gathered today at the office of the Directorate of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs office at Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.

Last year, the scholarship helpline centre named Yarkum enterprise, collected original documents along with Rs 500 from more 3000 students thus assuring them of providing scholarships under the scheme provided by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Social Justice.

However, till date no students name was enlisted either in the beneficiary or reject list for scholarships. On the issue, the aggrieved students today met director of social justice, empowerment and tribal affairs Yumlam Kaha who informed the students that Hillang Nima didn’t submit the scholarship forms on time.

The students have given 24 hours time to the chairman of the centre to appear before them and if failed, the students will gherao his residence.
