Six student organisations of Manipur including the AMSU, DESAM and MSF have called for a 48-hour general strike throughout the state from the midnight of September 26 in protest against the recent crackdown by police at the Manipur University campus.

All six organisations have highly condemned the incident and have demanded the unconditional release of all those who are still in police custody.

The organisations also criticised the state government’s inability in bringing normalcy in the campus.
