"Sapna dekhna chor do, kyunki sachai karwa hota hain aur aap Arunachal ko apna sochna chor do": message to China
People of Arunachal Pradesh has roared back at the Red Dragon yet again. Arunachalees have hit back at China and said that it should stop dreaming because Arunachal was, is, and forever will remain an integral part of India. No matter how much it tries and whatever tricks it uses, Arunachal Pradesh and it’s people will never belong to China.
This recent outburst from the Arunachalees came today in sharp reaction to the episode of China issuing stapled visas to three Wushu players from the state who were part of the Indian contingent for the World University Games 2023.
Advocate SD Loda from Arunachal Pradesh expressed his strong disapproval of China’s actions, and said, “Sapna dekhna chor do, kyunki sachai karwa hota hain aur aap Arunachal ko apna sochna chor do (Stop dreaming about Arunachal, the truth is always bitter), and another truth is that we Arunachalees will never be of China. Arunachal is, was of India. We are saddened about the issue towards the Arunachalee player for giving staple visa, and we cannot accept it.”
Adding to the voices of discontent, Arunachal Pradesh MMA Coach Ning Gogoi expressed his deep disappointment, emphasizing the effort and money invested by players to prepare for the competition. He lamented that political dilemmas between the two countries were depriving players of the opportunity to compete and called for a swift resolution to the territorial dispute between India and China.
The issuance of stapled visas to the Arunachal Pradesh athletes has once again raised concerns about the sovereignty of the region, as it has been an integral part of India. The move has been met with widespread criticism and calls for India to take a firm stand in response to China’s actions.
“First of all it’s very disheartening, as players give too much effort into preparing themselves for a competition, and money also gets involved. All the time and money goes wasted due to such incidents. Political dilemma between two country players get to not play and this is very disheartening and this makes us not to play anymore”, said Ning Gogoi.
The controversy unfolded as the 12-member Indian Wushu team prepared to participate in the World University Games in Chengdu, China. Out of the team, only three players, namely Neyman Wangsu, Onilu Tega, and Mepung Lamgu, who hail from Arunachal Pradesh, were singled out and issued stapled visas, while the rest of the team received regular visas.
