Sikkim’s ace archer Tarundeep Rai set a new record in the ongoing Senior National Archery Championship in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
On the first day of the 5-day event, Tarundeep Rai has scored 689 points out of a possible 720 points for 72 arrows (6 arrows in 180 sec).
The Senior National Archery Championship (30th Indian round, 43rd recurve, and 19th compound) is being held in the Government Inter College in Ayodhya from November 25 to 29, 2023.
1100 archers (550 men and women each) from all across the country are participating in the tournament.
On the first day, the around 400 archers from various states put some incredible performances, showcasing their exceptional skills in a variety of events.
They showed remarkable precision, technique, and sportsmanship that left viewers in awe.
Olympic qualification berth winner–B. Dhiraj, Tushar Shelke, Ankita Bhakat, Simranjeet Kaura and world champions–Aditi Swami, Ojas Deotale apart from Parneet Kaur, Avneet Kaur and Abhishek Verma are among the popular archers who will compete in the compound competition.
