Sikkim police nabs drug lord, Contraband worth Rs 10 lakh seized

In yet another drug bust incident, Sikkim Police arrested a wanted drug Kingpin who had evaded the police on several occasions during the past 4 months. The drug kingpin identified as Suraj Pradhan alias Salman has been involved in several Special Area Development Authority (SADA) and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act cases in the past where recoveries were made in commercial quantity.

He has been peddling drugs in huge quantities for over a decade. Despite several arrests, he was let out on bail by the Courts. The accused person was under the Sadar police team’s radar for the past four months and many times he had managed to escape before the police could apprehend him.

Suraj was finally intercepted in a moving car near Luing Garden last evening at Resithang, during the search, large quantities of drugs including Brown Sugar, cough syrup, tablets, and capsules were recovered from his vehicle.

As per report, the seized drugs is said to be worth Rs 10 lakh in the market.
