Sedition accused Shaheen Bagh protest organiser Sharjeel Imam has been sent to four days of police custody.
Imam, who was brought in to Guwahati on Thursday evening, was produced before the CJM court.
While the police wanted custody of Imam for a period of 14 days, they were granted custody for only four days by the court.

It is to be noted that Imam has multiple FIRs slapped on him and a case of sedition for making a comment about separating Assam from the rest of India.
Also to be noted here is that several groups gathered at the Guwahati Railway Station yesterday evening when Imam arrived along with the police team from Delhi.
Slogans were raised in the air as protesters demanded strict punishment for Imam for his alleged comments.
Sharjeel Imam, an activist, has been booked under several cases for allegedly delivering inflammatory speeches against Citizenship Amendment Act and National Registrar of Citizens.
It needs to be mentioned that multiple FIRs have been registered and sedition charges have been slapped on Sharjeel for his alleged remarks.
