Rikman G Momin takes charge as new Meghalaya BJP president

Rikman Momin is the first representative from Garo Hills to hold the position of State President of BJP in Meghalaya

Senior BJP leader Rikman G Momin today took charge as the new Meghalaya BJP State President in a handing and taking over ceremony at the party office in Shillong.

After assuming office, Rikman Momin expressed his gratitude for reposing faith in him to lead the party.

Talking to reporters, Rikman Momin said that his main objective will be to strengthen the party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and to take all party workers along as the BJP gears up for the Lok Sabha polls.

Outgoing president Ernest Mawrie said that he will continue to work to strengthen the party along with the party workers.

Apart from Ernest Mawrie, State in-charge of BJP Chuba Ao and Cabinet Minister AL Hek beside other BJP karyakartas were present at the event.

Meghalaya BJP appointed Rikman Momin as the new state BJP president on September 25, after the term of incumbent state president Ernest Mawrie ended.

In 2019, the BJP gave a ticket to Rikman G. Momin as the party candidate to contest for the Tura Lok Sabha Constituency seat in Meghalaya.

Rikman Momin is the first representative from Garo Hills to hold the position of State President in Meghalaya.
