India will be a global leader in super computing: Prez Murmu

The government is committed to make India a global leader in the field of super computing. Prez Murmu stresses on technology based solutions.

President Droupadi Murmu during her visit to Assam today laid stress on the fact that science and other technical institutes must promote research and development for the better good of the society.

President Murmu while delivering a speech at the IIT-Guwahati said that research and innovation is the key in this modern age.

President Droupadi Murmu was at the IIT-Guwahati for inaugurating the Param-Kamrupa, the supercomputer, which has a capacity of 838 Teraflops with 1 PB storage, a High-Performance Computing cluster.

Besides, highlighting the prowess of the supercomputer, President Murmu said that Param-Kamrupa will play a pivotal role in the field of scientific and engineering applications such as quantum mechanics, climate research, oil and gas exploration, molecular modeling, weather forecasting, spacecraft aerodynamics, computational systems biology and detonation simulations including the handling of large databases using Artificial intelligence models.

President Murmu also emphasized that the government is committed to make India a global leader in super computing.

While, launching several other key health projects including the Dhubri medical college, President Droupadi Murmu said that the Himanta Biswa Sarma government has gone a long way in improving the health infrastructure which is also cost effective. President Murmu also dedicated the Zonal Institute of Virology in Dibrugarh to the nation.
