Arunachal Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia on Friday termed the demand for Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) for Assam residents in the frontier state as irrational and unjustified.
Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live in Itanagar, Rebia said there is no question of giving PRC to Assam residents staying in Arunachal.
It may be mentioned that the ULFA-Independent had recently asked the Arunachal Pradesh government to grant PRCs to the Assamese people residing in the state for decades.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu had also made it clear that there is no move to grant PRC to the Assamese people residing in the state.
