Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh is expecting a positive outcome in his ongoing talks with numerous insurgent groups in the state.
Speaking to Northeast Live the Chief Minister said there will be a positive outcome within 2 to 3 months.
Singh said peace talks with insurgent groups are in progress and the Government is expecting to achieve positive results within the next 3 to 4 years.
It needs to be mentioned here that bringing insurgent groups to the negotiating table was one of the Chief Minister’s promises when he took an oath as the Chief Minister for the second term.
Earlier last week a top leader of the Revolutionary People’s Front surrendered before the Chief Minister also 14 members of the United Tribal Liberation Army-James (UTLA-J), including its chairman, laid down arms and joined the mainstream during a homecoming ceremony in Imphal.
