People in Arunachal hold peaceful rally seeking justice for rape victim

People in large numbers took to the streets at Longding in Arunachal Pradesh in protest against alleged failure of the police to arrest two persons accused of raping a minor

People in large numbers took to the streets at Longding in Arunachal Pradesh in protest against alleged failure of the police to arrest two persons accused of raping a minor girl on February 4.

Women as well as students joined the peaceful rally under the banner of the All Wancho Women Welfare Society, Wancho Students Union, Longding District Students Union and Niausa Students Union seeking justice for the victim.

According to sources, the police have arrested five persons for harbouring the accused individuals.

The two accused are reported to be former members of a militant organisation.
