Nagaland: NPP, NPF nominees withdraw candidature for Bye-election

NPP candidate O Tinu Longkumer withdrew his candidature on Thursday for the bye-election to the 26 Aolendeng constituency.
Tinu Longkumer has issued a statement extending his support to PDA candidate Sharingain Longkumer. It is worth mentioning that Tinu was reported missing on March 26 from Mokokchung.
However, after investigation he was reported to be safe and also denied any statement that he had been abducted.
Meanwhile, NPF candidate Toshipokba Longkumer also withdrew his candidature for the bye-election to 26 Aolendeng assembly constituency. The NPF candidate stated that he would extend his full support to PDA candidate Sharingain Longkumer.
He also said that the PDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has brought about progressive changes and developments in Nagaland.
