Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio Launches Solar Mission In Line With PM Modi’s Renewable Energy Vision

The Rio Government has allocated Rs 10 crore for the Solar Mission in 2025-26.
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Solar Mission, aimed at accelerating the adoption of residential rooftop solar power systems across the state and addressing power availability issues in the state.
Chief Minister Rio said the government has taken major steps towards advancing green energy, reducing electricity costs, promoting environmental conservation.
The Rio Government has allocated Rs 10 crore for the Solar Mission in 2025-26.
He further said that the State Government will supplement Government of India’s subsidy by providing additional State subsidies.
Total subsidy will range from 96 percent for systems up to 2 kilowatt (2kW) and 85 percent for systems up to 3 kilowatt, making solar installations significantly more affordable for residents.
The initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to building a sustainable and energy-efficient future, CM added.
Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, Minister for Power K G Kenye, Chief Secretary J. Alam, and other senior state officials were present at the launch.
