A large mob killed a leopard that was terrorising locals of Nazira’s Ligiri Pukhuri in Assam. The leopard had reportedly attacked and injured three persons earlier which prompted the villagers
A large mob killed a leopard that was terrorising locals of Nazira’s Ligiri Pukhuri in Assam.
The leopard had reportedly attacked and injured three persons earlier which prompted the villagers to get together to take the animal down by beating it to death.
The three persons injured have been identified as Prafulla Gogoi, Anil Gogoi and Hirokjyoti Dihingia.
The failure of the forest department to intervene in many such incidents in the recent past has led to such man animal conflicts resulting in loss of life on either side.
