Assam CM slams Sam Pitroda for his remark, “People in East look like Chinese”

Sam Pitroda, a close aide of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and a man closely identified as a key think tanker of the Congress party at one point in time, has raked up another controversy by trying to equate people in different parts of India with Chinese, Africans and Arabs going by their looks. Pitroda, speaking to The Statesman, said that while people in the East look like Chinese, people in the West look like Arab, people in the North look like White and people in the South look like Africans, yet everyone is living united as brothers and sisters. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has lashed out at Pitroda for his comments. Taking to social media, CM Sarma said that though he comes from the North East, he looks like an Indian.
