Proud moment for Northeast and the entire nation as Jeremy Lalrinnunga Ralte, a young weightlifter from Mizoram, has smashed records in the Commonwealth Senior Weightlifting Championship in Apia, Samoa.
The 16-year-old Youth Olympic gold medalist has smashed three records in a power-packed performance.
Jeremy, competing in the 67 kg category, broke the Youth World, Asian and Commonwealth records in the snatch category with a lift of 136 kg, but failed to register a clean and jerk lift in the category on Day 3 of the tournament.
Jeremy also earlier registered the Youth World, Asian and Commonwealth records for lifting 134 kg at Asian Championship held at Ningbo in China.
However, he missed out on a clean and jerk lift there and could not register a total lift score at the qualifying event.
