Currently, 6,636 quintals of subsidized rice are distributed every 3 months to approximately 14,000 individuals at rehabilitation centres.
The Mizoram government may soon raise the price of subsidized rice provided to rehabilitation centres, citing the growing number of beneficiaries, said Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Sunday.
Currently, 6,636 quintals of subsidized rice are distributed every 3 months to approximately 14,000 individuals at rehabilitation centres and homes at a rate of Rs 6 per kg.
However, with the increase in the number of beneficiaries, the price may need to be adjusted, the Chief Minister stated.
The announcement was made during Lalduhoma’s visit to the Tawngtai Bethel Camping Centre, where he donated Rs 5 lakhs in celebration of the upcoming Christmas season.
The CM, accompanied by TBC Lalvenchhunga, the Constituency MLA and Adviser to the CM, emphasized the importance of obedience in overcoming addiction and encouraged the residents to remain hopeful.
This marks his return to the centre a year after his visit following his swearing-in ceremony on December 8.
