In the wake of the steep surge in Covid -19 cases, the Mizoram government on Saturday issued new guidelines, which will be in force until further order.

According to the new guidelines, places of worship or religious places will remain closed.

Besides, no religious gathering will be allowed in areas declared as the red zone.

In addition to that, worship service is permitted only during the daytime with a maximum of 50 per cent in areas other than the red zone.

School and hostels will continue to remain close for classes 1 to 9, whereas students of classes 10 and 12 who will face board exams are allowed to stay in the hostel following Covid protocols.

Meanwhile, picnic spots, movie theatres public parks, swimming pools, gymnasiums will remain closed in the Aizawl Municipal Corporation area.
