The Mizoram unit of National People’s Party has confirmed its support to the ruling Mizo National Front in the upcoming polls.

NPP’s Mizoram unit President Hmingdailova Khiangte said that the NPP would support MNF nominee C Lalrosanga in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Khiangte, however, ruled out any electoral alliance or talks with the Mizo National Front. NPP and MNF are constituents of BJP-promoted North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA).

Khiangte said that the Congress ZPM alliance will not have much impact on the people. The state BJP unit also made a statement that the party would support the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) nominee in the byelection to the Aizawl West I Assembly constituency.
