A crucial meeting of the Mizoram Resource Mobilization Committee was held on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Office in Aizawl, with Chief Minister Lalduhoma presiding over the discussions. The committee delved into pressing issues concerning land ownership and utilization in government estates, including the Industrial Growth Centre.
Among the key topics discussed were cases of private landowners occupying areas designated as government property, particularly within the Industrial Growth Centre. The meeting also addressed concerns regarding private individuals renting government land for business purposes but failing to commence operations.
Strategies for reclaiming such government properties and ensuring their effective utilisation were explored in detail. The discussions underscored the importance of regulating private landownership on government estates to facilitate planned development and economic growth in the state.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman Haukhuma Hauzel (IAS Retired) and other senior officials from the Departments of Industry and Land Revenue. The committee emphasised the need for swift and coordinated action to resolve the issues and safeguard government resources.
