Ronnie V Lyngdoh, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, emphasized the need to address pressing issues like inflation and unemployment
The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) is gearing up for Lok Sabha elections 2024 with a focus on securing victory in the Shillong and Tura seats. The party aims to engage with the public regarding the failures of the NDA government in various areas such as the economy, employment, and rising prices, which have adversely affected the common people.
During a media interaction, Ronnie V Lyngdoh, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, emphasized the need to address pressing issues like inflation and unemployment, which have reached record highs in the country.
When asked about the Congress party’s prospects of winning the Shillong and Tura Lok Sabha seats, Lyngdoh expressed confidence by citing the party’s commitment towards the welfare of the people, as evidenced by its successes in the Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh polls.
He stated that Congress is the sole political party in the country that genuinely cares about the well-being of the citizens, exemplified by its ability to triumph over the BJP in other state elections despite the latter’s extensive campaigning efforts.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lyngdoh said that the PM does not even have time to visit violence-hit Manipur and call for peace and harmony in the state.
Lyngdoh highlighted the insensitivity of the NDA government towards the North East, where the Prime Minister seems too preoccupied to address the situation in Manipur, where numerous casualties and displacements have occurred. He accused the NDA government of prioritizing electoral victories without considering the human aspect or other important factors.
