Renowned journalist of Assam and state Congress Media Cell head Manjit Mahanta passed away today.
The veteran journalist breathed his last at around 2 a.m. today at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). He was battling cancer.
His mortal remains has been take to his residence in Geetanagar, Guwahati. The last rites of Mahanta will be conducted at Navagraha.
Manjit Mahanta worked as a journalist in NETV and Frontier TV. Later he joined politics and became the chairman of the media department of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee.
