Manipur law and order situation: 3-member MHA team reaches Imphal

The Ministry of Home Affairs has deputed a Special Envoy to Manipur to take stock of the ongoing turmoil in the State.
A three member special team of the MHA led by Interlocutor AK Mishra landed at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal this evening in a special flight. The other member of the team include- Rajesjh Kumble, Joint Director, SIB, Manipur and Mandeep Singh, Joint Director, SIB New Delhi.
As per source, the team is in Manipur to take the stock of the ongoing turmoil in the state. This comes as a big move from the centre on the unrest which has been on for the last 8 months.
The decision of the Centre to rush a special team to Manipur comes after a series of violent incidents were reported from border town Moreh, where security forces too were targetted by unidentified gunmen.
