Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, extended financial assistance and distributed relief materials to 22 families of ex-servicemen who have been adversely affected by recent incidents of violence in the state.

The Governor who has been visiting relief camps, reaching out to the violence-hit people and extending aid and relief material, handed over a cash amount of Rs. 15,000 to each of the ex-servicemen families, along with essential items such as blankets and multi-utility boxes at an event held at the Raj Bhavan.

Governor Uikey acknowledged the severe impact the violence has had on these families, whose homes and belongings were destroyed, forcing them to seek refuge in relief camps. As the President of the Rajya Sainik Board, she highlighted that this assistance was made possible through the collective contributions of the Board members and assured the affected ex-servicemen of continued support in the future.

She underscored the pivotal role that unity among communities plays in restoring a sense of peace and harmony. The Governor highlighted the earnest efforts undertaken by both the Central and State governments to re-establish tranquillity and called upon all citizens to actively contribute towards the restoration of normalcy and lasting peace, a Raj Bhavan release said.
