Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla was briefed on the status of border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border during a meeting with Lt. Gen. Raghu Srinivasan, Director General of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), at Raj Bhavan on Monday.
Accompanied by Maj. Gen. Ravroop Singh, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South), and senior BRTF officers, Lt. Gen. Srinivasan discussed the critical fencing work aimed at bolstering national security and improving regional connectivity.

Governor Bhalla emphasised the importance of expediting the project to secure the sensitive border areas while supporting development efforts in the region.
Later in the evening, Lt. Gen. Srinivasan met with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh at the CM Secretariat to review highway construction and other connectivity projects. Sharing the updates on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “Had a productive discussion on ongoing construction of highways in the state and various projects to enhance connectivity in Manipur and the rest of the North East region.”
