Manipur: First Cabinet meeting held in Ukhrul amid unrest

The State Cabinet also decided to convert Ukhrul into the Summer Town of Manipur

Even as the unrest in Manipur is barely a week from touching the half year mark, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, in a significant move, held a cabinet meeting in Ukhrul – the first such meeting to have been conducted in a hill district since the unrest began on May 3. The Manipur Cabinet, in its meeting held at the Conference Hall of Ukhrul DC approved the construction of Police Station at Toloi and Re-Establishment of SDC Office in the district.
