Manipur CM calls for unity and peace in state on Republic Day

The Chief Minister called on the people of the state to uphold the Constitution, exercise their rights, and carry out their responsibilities to protect the unity of Manipur and India

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has once again called for peace and unity in the state on the occasion of Republic Day today.

Republic Day celebration was held at the Kangla Fort in Imphal, where Governor Anusuiya Uikey unfurled the national flag and took salutes from different march-past contingents.

Delivering his speech on the occasion, Chief Minister expressed his unhappiness with the ongoing situation in the state and said, ” We can only address the current crisis if we unify.”

Interacting with the media after attending the Republic Day celebrations in Imphal, Chief Minister N Biren Singh called for unity to make the nation stronger.

The Chief Minister called on the people of the state to uphold the Constitution, exercise their rights, and carry out their responsibilities to protect the unity of Manipur and India.

Reacting to a query on alleged low participation from students in this year’s celebrations, CM N Biren Singh said that the attendance was satisfactory and apart from students from Churachandpur district, everyone took part in the parade.

Significantly, CM N Biren refused to elaborate on the meeting of the MLAs with Arambai Tenggol on January 24th.
