Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has extended his congratulations to the Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong , and the personnel of Tamei Police Station for their successful operation to destroy poppy plantations in the Kadi-Part IV and Kuilong-Part II areas under Tamei Police Station, Tamenglong district.

The police team uprooted poppy plants spread across 5 acres in the area as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug cultivation in the state.

Taking X, the Chief Minister wrote, “Well done SP, Tamenglong and the personnel of Tamei Police for successfully destroying poppy cultivation in the Kadi and Kuilong areas. I appreciate your efforts in eradicating illegal plantations and the drug business from our state. We will not rest until poppy plantations and the drug menace are completely wiped out from Manipur.”

The destruction of poppy plantations is a key element in Manipur’s broader fight against illegal drugs, which remains a significant challenge in the state.
