The 74th edition of Independence Day was celebrated extensively in the state of Manipur.
Celebrating the 74th Independence Day of India, the Government of Manipur, headed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, observed the day by inspecting Guard of Honour & Unfurling the national flag at 1st Manipur Rifle Ground in Imphal.
On the occasion, CM N Biren Singh launched the Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Memorial ex-gratia scheme, for those Army & Paramilitary Forces from state, who was martyred for safeguarding the country.
The Chief Minister further handed over an ex-gratia amount 5 Lakh next to the kin of Sahid Ratan Salam of 4th Assam Rifle, who was martyred on 29th July in Chandel District of Manipur, in an attack by insurgent group.
Biren Singh also handed over award for CM trophy for Community Services & CM’s Trophy for Anti-Drug Campaign, to 6 police personnel.
