Man Tries to Con Assam Govt Official as CM Himanta Biswa’s OSD’s PA, Arrested

As per sources, the man had approached several petrol pumps, making similar demands under different fake identities.
A man was apprehended for fraudulently claiming to be the personal assistant (PA) to the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Assam Chief Minister.
He was identified as Rupam Das and allegedly used this false identity to con people and obtain benefits unlawfully.
The scam came to light on December 7 when Rupam Das, under the guise of being the PA to the CM’s OSD, contacted Lisa Talukdar, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Kaliabar. He directed her to arrange 30 liters of petrol for two so-called government vehicles. Sensing something unusual, SDO Talukdar promptly conducted an inquiry and discovered that Rupam Das was an imposter.
Subsequently, he was arrested by the police, and a case was registered against him. As per sources, Rupam Das had approached several petrol pumps, making similar demands under different fake identities.
