As many as 20 Madhya Pradesh Congress MLAs have tendered their resignations following the Jyotiraditya Scindia’s decision to quit the party.

Scindia posted his resignation on Twitter soon after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi.

Scindia is likely to join the BJP at 6 pm today and in all certainty will be named the party’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh.

In his resignation letter Scindia wrote that it was no longer possible to work for his supporters and the people of the state by being in the Congress, hence he decided to give up the primary membership of the party.

The Congress, meanwhile, has claimed that it expelled Scindia due to his alleged anti-party activities.

Meanwhile, reports are coming in that the BJP is offering a Central ministerial berth to Scindia upon joining the saffron party and has even talked of providing him a Rajya Sabha seat for the same.

And earlier, Congress leader Digvijay Singh claimed that Kamal Nath’s crackdown on mafia in state shook the rebel leaders.
