The newly established Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) which offers state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and is fully equipped with the lasted medical technologies, has not been used fully due to the lack of awareness among the public, said Assam Legislative Speaker Biswajit Daimary today.
During his visit to the medical college today, Biswajit Daimary suggested the institution authorities to organise medical campaigns and awareness programmes to spread awareness among the public about the college and hospital, as well as the treatment available for some major critical ailments for which people of the region often travel to West Bengal or other states.
Speaking to the media, Daimary said that many are still not aware of the hospital, since they think that the institution is only a medical college.
He also urged people to avail treatment and address their medical needs at the Kokrajhar Medical College and Hospital.
During the visit Daimary also met doctors, students as well as patients at the hospital.
