Voting is underway in full swing at Khonsa West constituency amidst tight security. At least 10,000 people are expected to exercise their franchise in the by-election.

Each of the 23 polling stations in the Khonsa West constituency, is being manned by at least 20 security personnel, after threats emerged from militants who have asked people not to cast their votes.

It’s a direct contest between two independent candidates – Chakat Aboh, who is being backed by as many as 5 political parties and Azet Humtok.

Meanwhile, Chakat Aboh, the one candidate who has been in the focus during the Khonsa by-polls, cast her vote this morning.
