The wait is finally over, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to release its manifesto for the ensuing Manipur polls today.

The manifesto release will be a high profile affair with BJP national president JP Nadda set to arrive in Imphal for the event.

According to sources JP Nadda will land in Imphal at around 1 pm and is likely to release the manifesto by 2 pm.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live on Wednesday, Union Minister of state for external affairs and chairman of manifesto committee RK Ranjan gave an insight on what to expect from the saffron party’s manifesto.

The union minister said that the manifesto is based on people’s aspirations.

Defending the delay in the release of the manifesto, RK Ranjan said that the BJP has done an in-depth study before coming up with the manifesto.

Significantly, RK Ranjan admitted that the AFSPA removal promise and ST status for Meiteis issue have not found a place in the BJP manifesto.

The union minister, however, assured that the BJP will continue to pursue both and bring things to their logical end.
