The Indian Navy wrapped their rescue operations at the coal mine site at Ksan in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills.
The Navy left the site on Friday and is set to leave the state today after having received orders from their high command.
The District Authority congratulated the Navy team’s efforts, dedication and tremendous contribution in the two months long rescue operation for the trapped miners at Ksan.
The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District conveyed his deepest gratitude and wished them a save journey home.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army are also preparing to leave the site after having received a call from their high command.
The NDRF and the SDRF are still carrying on their operations at the site and ready to assist other agencies for all purpose. Rescue efforts are being continued to retrieve the bodies of the trapped miners from the mines below at the site.
Till yesterday evening, the Coal India Limited continued pumping out water from the mines at the site.
