Haldiram’s mulling setting up manufacturing plant, outlet in Arunachal, meets CM Khandu in Itanagar

In a move that would give a big boost to the economy of Arunachal Pradesh, the popular Indian multinational sweets, snacks, and restaurant company Haldiram’s is toying with the idea of setting up a manufacturing plant and also opening an exclusive Haldiram’s outlet in the frontier state.

Haldiram’s Chairman, Manohar Aggrawal, and Managing Director, Madhu Sudan Aggrawal today called on Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Itanagar and evinced interest “in expanding Haldiram’s manufacturing plants in the state”, CM Khandu said in a tweet.

CM Khandu’s tweet read,”Haldiram’s Chairman Shri Manohar Aggrawal Ji and MD Shri Madhu Sudan Aggrawal Ji made a courtesy call today. We discussed about agriculture and horticulture potential of Arunachal Pradesh. They showed keen interest in expanding Haldiram plants in the state. I assured our government’s complete support.”

During the meeting, the potential of Arunachal Pradesh’s agriculture and horticulture sectors was discussed at length. Chief Minister Khandu assured complete help and support.

Sources told Northeast Live that the Haldiram’s top executives was in the state to do a recce and they also visited the food park.

Haldiram’s is headquartered in Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The company has manufacturing plants in Nagpur, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Hooghly, Rudrapur, and Noida. Haldiram’s has its retail stores and restaurants in Pune, Nagpur, Raipur, Kolkata, Noida, and Delhi.

Haldiram’s has over 410 products. Its product range includes traditional nankeens, western snacks, Indian traditional and contemporary Sweets, cookies, sherbets, and pickles.
