Guwahati: Friends’ Get-together Turns Tragic, Man Falls To Death During Party

A get-together of friends turned tragic when a 26-year-old man fell to his death from the third floor of a lodge in Chandmari, Guwahati on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Adhikari.
The incident occurred around 12:30 am, where Adhikari, a security guard at a hotel in the city’s Paltan Bazar area, was attending a gathering with two friends at the Krystal Inn lodge.
As per inputs, Bikash was believed to have lost his balance and fell from the building.
Police, based on their prima facie findings, said that the man was under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. CCTV footage from the scene shows Bikash intentionally jumping from the balcony, raising concerns of a possible suicide attempt.
However, the matter has been confirmed to be accidental.
The police have initiated an investigation. His friends are also being questioned.
