Freak accident: Man injured as bomb concealed inside GI Pipe explodes

The man was rushed to the hospital. Police and forensic teams have collected the pipe for further investigation

In a freak accident that took place in Imphal, a man was injured after a bomb concealed inside a GI Pipe that he had bought, exploded, leaving the person injured. The incident took place at Pishum Oinam Leikai of Imphal West.
Salam Lolip bought the GI Pipe from a shop at Langthabal of Imphal. He brought the pipe home and cut the pipe into half. While he was cutting the GI Pipe the bomb exploded. He suffered splinter injuries in the lower part of his body. He was rushed to the hospital.

Police and forensic teams have collected the pipe for further investigation.
This freak incident comes amid people being arrested for trying to smuggle arms inside Manipur and incidents of arson and violence being reported from different parts of Manipur.
