Ahead of the BTC elections on April 4, Chief of disbanded NDFB (S) B Saoraigwra formally joined the BPF in Chirang district on Thursday.
A massive party rally was held to mark the occasion. Tourism minister and BPF leader Chandan Brahma welcomed Saoraigwra to the party fold.
Speaking to media, Saoraigwra thanked the BPF leadership for accepting him and maintained that he would work for the betterment of people.
Over BR Ferenga’s decision to join the rival UPP, Saoraigwra said that everyone has the right to take their own decision in a democracy.
Saoraigwra, one of the signatories of the Bodo Peace Accord, claimed that 99 percent of the NDFB(S) cadres are in his support. He maintained that BPF will retain power.
