Six persons have lost their lives in devastating floods that has wreaked havoc in Modirijo village in Arunachal Pradesh.

Two bodies have been recovered from Modirijo and Donyi Polo. Incessant rainfall led to rising water levels of the Majind mete.

Meanwhile, NDRF personnel have swung into action and are conducting search and rescue operations.

Itanagar Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan said that 47 houses were damaged and survey is on to assess the damage.

The DC attributed the causes of the devastating floods to a landslide in Donyi polo. Dhawan further disclosed that evacuations are on in affected areas.

Meanwhile, the Deputy commissioner appealed the people in the affected areas to shift to relief camps.
