Flood alert lifted from Assam, Arunachal

Flood alert in all the four districts of Assam – Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur have been withdrawn as the water levels of the Siang and Brahmaputra rivers have decreased.

The East Siang district administration too has withdrawn flood alert.

The NDRF personnel’s from Doimukh have already returned to their bases. While, the personnel’s who had come from Odisha are awaiting confirmation of their railway tickets.

Several districts along the Siang River in Arunachal Pradesh and neighboring Assam have been put on high alert keeping in mind the possibility of flash floods after China informed India about a landslide blocking a river in Tibet leading to the formation of an artificial lake.
