ENPO’s Frontier Nagaland demand: CM Rio, Cabinet colleagues meet interlocutor AK Mishra in Delhi

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and his Cabinet colleagues met A K Mishra, Adviser, Ministry of Home Affairs for Northeast in Delhi yesterday to discuss the demand of Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organisation (ENPO) for Frontier Nagaland.

ENPO, the umbrella body of seven tribes of eastern Nagaland, for creation of a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state,
Sources informed that the Nagaland government has urged the Home Ministry to provide the working paper for it to study and make observations on the ENPO issue since it is now a tripartite talk.

What has been sought is a working paper and not the final draft, sources said.

Apart from CM Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton, Ministers Metsibu Jamir, KG Kenye, G. Kaito Aye and Ministers from the eastern region of Nagaland, P.Paiwang Konyak, CL John and Bashimongba were present in the meeting with Mishra.

ENPO is the umbrella body of seven tribes of eastern Nagaland. They have been demanding creation of a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state.
