The Easter Naga People’s Organisation and the Eastern Naga National Worker’s Forum held a Consultative and Coordination meeting in Tuensang on Wednesday, during which the groups resolved and reaffirmed the 18th December 2007’s Tuensang summit resolution in declaring the entire Eastern Jurisdiction as a peace zone.
The House unanimously reaffirmed that there should be no bloodshed, threat, intimation or any form of violence within Eastern Jurisdiction.
Moreover, the ENPO also cautioned that it shall not extend any public cooperation to any groups for non-compliance with the aforementioned resolution.
The ENPO further appealed to all the NPGs to strictly adhere and comply with this historic resolution and re-affirmation. All Eastern Nagas beyond ENPO jurisdiction fall under the ambit of the resolution.
Earlier on Tuesday, a meeting of the CEC of ENPO was held wherein it resolved and appealed to all NPGs to uphold Cease fire ground rules in spirit within Eastern Jurisdiction and also to sincerely pursue its decades-old Naga cause through peace talks and negotiation.
The house also discouraged the mushrooming of factions and appealed to all NPGs to “Unite under one unified umbrella” for an amicable Naga Solution that is honourable, inclusive and acceptable.
The ENPO further resolved that it is ready to act as a mediator for Peace Negotiation if approached.
The ENPO has also discouraged NPG Courts at the regional level from entertaining civilian cases. Furthermore, civilians have been informed to not file any case in the NPGs court or face consequences.
In view of growing anti-social elements within the NPGs, the House appealed to keep a tap on anti-social practices to maintain the sanctity of its good office.
