Even after 72 years of independence, electricity still eludes the people of a large portion of Titabor constituency’s No 2 ward in Assam.

Titabor, which has been the constituency of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has not been electrified in specific areas for a very long time now.

People of the Bebejia Muhuramukh area have long been appealing for electrification of their homes but their appeals have always fallen upon deaf ears.

In a bid to attract the attention of the current government and especially power minister Tapan Gogoi, the people have lit lamps and incense sticks on the roadside and even sang prayers hoping for early electrification of their villages.
