The NSCN-IM has reiterated that solution to the peace talks cannot come at the cost of compromising the historical and political rights of the Nagas.

Stating that while it took five years of intensive discussion to ensure recognition of the uniqueness of Naga history and situation by the Government of India on July 11th 2002 at Amsterdam, the NSCN-IM said the historic Framework Agreement of 3rd August, 2015 which followed was no mean achievement for the Naga people.

Pressing yet again for inclusion of all Naga inhabited areas, the NSCN-IM further stated that as per the Framework Agreement ‘inclusive peaceful co-existence of the two entities sharing sovereign power’ is the basis to the solution.

The NSCN-IM release further stated that the word inclusive in the Framework Agreement means all Nagas and their territories in different administrative units and political camps are to be included in the agreement.

The NSCN-IM also said that there can be no compromise on the issue of the Naga flag and constitution as these are the identity and soul of the people without which a solution will not be acceptable.

The NSCN-IM also urged the Naga people to be patient and allow the Naga talk team to secure the historical and political rights and a solution that is honourable and acceptable.
